Man Accuses Dog Of DUI

Last week, Florida police engaged in a high speed chase with 26 year old Reliford Cooper III – well, with who they thought was Reliford Cooper.

According to police, Reliford ran a stop sign, drove through two ditches and crashed his car into a house in an alleged drunken attempt to evade arrest. Reliford says otherwise.
He says that he wasn’t drunk at all. He was a helpless victim in the entire ordeal because… his dog was driving the car.

Reliford must have known how the events would look to the police and he, and his dog (we assume), took off on foot. Police tracked him down though, which is where he put the blame squarely on his pooch. Unfortunately for Reliford, his dog was nowhere to be found.

This means one of three things:
1. The dog was driving and fled the scene knowing the police wouldn’t believe his human’s absurd claims.
2. The man was driving and the dog was the innocent passenger, but ran away.
3. Reliford totally made the whole thing up and was driving under the influence.
The latter is what police believe happened. One Deputy noted that Reliford had “the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, as well as an odor of burnt marijuana.”

In fact, no dog has yet to be identified as a PAW son of Interest and there have been no new developments in this case.

We’re glad that no one was hurt in this incident and we hope it serves as a reminder to everyone that we should never drink and drive, whether we’re dogs or not.

NEW JERSEY MESOTHELIOMA ATTORNEYS WIN $7.5M ASBESTOS VERDICT

NEW JERSEY MESOTHELIOMA ATTORNEYS FROM THE NATIONALLY-ACCLAIMED ASBESTOS LAW FIRM LEVY KONIGSBERG LLP OBTAIN A $7.5M VERDICT, INCLUDING A $1M AWARD OF PUNITIVE DAMAGES, FOR A VICTIM OF MESOTHELIOMA AND HIS WIFE.
NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey, January 15, 2015 – William and Debbie Condon of Lake Hopatcong, NJ – represented by mesothelioma attorneys Moshe Maimon and Joseph J. Mandia of Levy Konigsberg LLP – won a month-long trial against Pecora Corporation1. The jury verdict awarded $6.5M in compensatory damages for Mr. Condon’s asbestos-caused mesothelioma. The jury also determined that Pecora had acted in wanton and willful disregard of his rights – and further awarded $1M in punitive damages.
Known to his co-workers as “Billy Boiler,” Mr. Condon, who is currently 67 years old, installed heating and air conditioning systems, including boilers, for 11 years (1973-1984) while he was employed at Fritze Heating and Cooling of Whippany, New Jersey. Asbestos, including Pecora’s Asbestos Furnace Cement, came with the boilers he installed, and it was Mr. Condon’s exposure to these products that resulted in him developing mesothelioma, a terminal cancer, in June of 2013. Mr. Condon testified in Court that, prior to being diagnosed with mesothelioma, he had a “great life,” which includes his “wonderful wife” (they have been together for 50 years), and two children.
The evidence presented at trial showed that before Mr. Condon ever worked with its Asbestos Furnace Cement, Pecora was warned about the hazards of asbestos by its own asbestos suppliers. Yet, Pecora took no action to eliminate the hazards of asbestos from its product or to warn Mr. Condon (or others) about those hazards so that he could protect himself. Finally, the evidence showed that, during the time period in which Mr. Condon was working with Pecora’s Asbestos Furnace Cement, Pecora’s own president was diagnosed with mesothelioma and filed his own lawsuit seeking justice for his asbestos-related cancer. Despite this, Pecora did not stop making asbestos-containing products and removed asbestos from its products only 5 years later when its insurers would no longer cover asbestos-related risk.
After considering the evidence, the jury awarded $1M in punitive damages against Pecora. The Honorable Ana C. Viscomi – Superior Court Judge – presided over the trial. Punitive damages are designed to punish a wrongdoer for particularly egregious conduct and to deter that party from future misconduct.

Why The Raw Food Diet

Because cooking takes so many nutrients and vitamins OUT of food, you automatically start feeding your body what it needs when you stop cooking food and start eating uncooked, nutrient-rich foods. A raw carrot has exponentially more nutrition than a cooked carrot.

Cooking also alters the chemistry of foods, often making them harder to digest. Why do we have so many digestive problems in this country? Because we’re putting foods into our bodies in a form that we weren’t designed to absorb. High fiber, high water content fresh produce abolishes constipation of the bowels, cells and circulatory system. Obstructions are cleared and blood flow increases to each and every cell in the body. Enhanced blood flow is significant for two reasons: as mentioned above, blood delivers nutrients and oxygen to living cells, and carries away their toxic metabolites.

Obesity is endemic in this country. The diet industry is more profitable than the oil companies. Why? Because the way we eat and prepare our food practically guarantees that we’ll overeat. Psychologists tell us that we overeat because our souls are hungry. But in reality, our bodies are hungry, even though we may feel full. When you start giving your body the nutrients it craves, overeating will cease.

Eating raw foods is a boost to your metabolism as well. It takes a little more energy to digest raw foods, but it’s a healthy process. Rather than spending energy to rid itself of toxins produced by cooking food, the body uses its energy to feed every cell, sending vitamins, fluids, enzymes and oxygen to make your body the efficient machine it was intended to be.

You’ll naturally stop overeating, because your body and brain will no longer be starving for the nutrients they need. A starving brain will trigger the thoughts that make you overeat. The brain and the rest of your body don’t need quantity; they need quality. Ready Made Niche Blog Paleo Dieting

Macrobiotic Diet Helps Balance Your Diet and Your Life

Macrobiotics devotees believe that food, and food quality, affects our lives more than is commonly thought. It is thought to affect our health, well being and happiness.  They focus on moving away from processed foods, and moving toward more natural and more traditional methods of food preparation. They claim it is better to choose food that is less processed, more natural, use more traditional methods of food preparation for themselves and their family.

Macrobiotics emphasize locally-grown, organically-grown  seaweed and   fermented soy products, combined into meals according to the principle of balance between   yin and yang properties, rather than scientific   "Food guide pyramid" dietary guidelines.

Macrobiotic diets follow the idea of Yin and Yang. Cereals, fruit, beans, nuts and vegetables, and rice make up the main part of the diet and are considered neutral and are naturally balanced in terms of Yin and Yang. Foods which are either extremely Yin in nature or extremely Yang in nature are eaten very rarely if at all. Very Yin products include coffee, tropical fruit, sugar, soft dairy products, vegetables, alcohol and honey.  Very Yang products include poultry, meat, firm dairy products like hard cheeses, and eggs.

The macrobiotic diet is high in natural, unprocessed foods, complex carbohydrates, and vegetables. It is low in saturated fats, whilst providing the essential fats. Food should be organically grown and eaten fresh. The Macrobiotic lifestyle also governs how food should be prepared. No microwave should be used - rice must be cooked in a pressure cooker. Food should be eaten and chewed slowly, in a relaxed manner.

Low-fat high-fiber diets are also believed to play a role in preventing some types of cancer. And the macrobiotic emphasis on fresh, non-processed foods may be beneficial to those dealing with certain food allergies and chemical sensitivities.  Followers assert that the balance and harmony of the macrobiotic diet and lifestyle create the best possible conditions for health. They claim that the diet yields many positive health effects, including a general sense of well-being, and some studies actually show that people on the diet have a decreased risk of heart disease and some forms of cancer.
